Many times when looking for things to wear in your closet you will find yourself saying, "I have nothing to wear." Lucky for you, you now have this post to refer to.

A basic outfit like blue jeans and a white top can easily be elevated with heels. The kind of heels do not have to be uncomfortable or too high. The Black heels worn in this photo are from H&M and are only an inch high. I like to make sure to have my toes done whenever I wear heels to give a more put-together looks.

The Jeans in the photo are blue Calvin Klein mom Jeans and the white button down top is from GAP.

I am sure you have heard about the sandwich rule which is when you wear an outfit where one color is found on your shoes and it wither matches a belt or a top. In this case I had the black heels match the black belt that I tucked the shirt in. I usually do not like tucking in my shirt but it elevates the entire look by 100%. For a more elegant look I like to make sure that my hair is curled or straightened and that my makeup is done. This is a perfect example of how simpler is better. You do not need a ton of makeup or hair accessories or layers on you to look great.

Achieving a good look is a lot easier than you may think. You do not need to spend hours every morning or spend a lot of money to look nice and polished.

1.Pick something according to to the weather or environment.

  • Understand your environment so you feel good to look good.

  • Weather you are going to be in an office or outside make sure to plan your outfit based on the weather if you someone sensitive to cold or hot climates. If I am on vacation in the Bahamas during the summer time then I would opt out for an outfit that is nice and airy instead of wearing something layered. Now, if you are getting ready for work where you office air conditioning is turned on to full blast then something a little more covered may be more comfortable.

2. High Maintenance things to save time

  • Have you heard the phrase doing high maintenance things to be low maintenance? Well this pretty much means you take the time to do things that are "high maintenance" so you can be low maintenance in other aspects. A good example of this is women who get eyelash extensions. yes, it may take a couple of hours every few weeks but it saves you time every morning because you don't need to spend time putting on falsies or doing your mascara, it also saves you time at the end of the day when it is time to go to bed because taking off mascara.. lets be real.. can take a while because of how delicate you should be with your lashes when removing strong product like that. I personally can not justify paying over $150 every 2 weeks to get eyelash extensions so, I have opted to getting lash lifts which is something I can do myself. I bought a kit on amazon which keeps my lashes curled for about 4-6 weeks. It takes me about an hour to do curl them but it saves me so much time in the long run.

  • Eyebrow tinting and lamination time saver

  • Waxing and Threading

  • Threading your eyebrows not only will give you the shape of brows you desire but you won't have take time out of your day to pluck each individual hair.

  • Laser hair removal is another option for those who can afford it.

  • Accessorize any outfit you put on with jewelry. Jewelry is going to be your best friend and makes you look put together. Make sure that you choose one tone, either silver or gold so it does not look mismatched. If you are going to wear silver earrings then you should wear silver necklaces not gold.

  • You can never go wrong with sunglasses, they do not have to be super expensive. Some of my favorite pairs I found at Target.

  • A cute small purse or tote bag is also a nice accessory. I am someone that does not like holding purses so if you're like me you could try a cute fanny pack. (Yes those are in style now. Take a look at the Lululemon "belt bags" they have on their website.)

4. Don't overlook your hairstyle

  • You could be wearing the cutest outfit you have in your closet but if your hair looks unbrushed or like you have not washed it in days then that will ruin your look. If you don't have time to brush your hair then put it up in a ponytail, do not keep it down. If your hair is greasy then try slicking it back in a tight bun to give it a clean girl look.

  • If you are someone that has a lot of fly away hairs I suggest getting a wax stick on amazon for $4 to get the clean look. (I avoid using hairspray because it's not great for the environment.

Are you planning a vacation somewhere and you aren't sure where to start? I have traveled to more than 15 countries and plan to continue adding to the list this next year!

In this blog I will be breaking down exactly what you need to do to plan a successful vacation to your next destination.

1.Pick the destination you want to go. (Keep in mind your budget)

  • This will help you navigate the planning process much easier when you already know what your destination is.

2. Have a set of dates when you want this trip to take place.

  • Solidify a timeframe where you are available to be gone for.If you are a student then I suggest you take a look at your academic calendar to know when you are out for break or when you don't have class. If you have a full time job you may need to check how much paid time off (PTO) you have at work to determine the length of your vacation.

3. How will you get there?

  • Think about weather you want to or can drive to your destination or if you are going to need to book a flight

4. Have an idea of what you want to do/see because this will help determine where you stay.

  • For example lets say you want to travel to Costa Rica. If you are interested in being at the beach the whole time then we are going to be looking for hotels near the beach.

5. Research flight details

  • Make sure to check if your credit card has any deals when booking flights with specific anilines.

  • Use Kayak or Skyscanner to compare prices from different airlines

  • Consider booking refundable airfare in case a better deal comes along later.

6. Research your accommodation.

  • If you want to get the best deals then you need to do some research to compare different locations to lodge in.

  • I usually stay in airbnb or in a hotel but I know some places have really nice hostels for young travelers that may not want to spent a ton.

7. Once you book the flight and hotel you can now create an itinerary.

  • The itinerary should include excursions, tours, places you would like to sightsee

  • Make sure to book the excursions ahead of time instead of waiting once you arrive at your location, because they do sell out!
