I have always loved dressing plainly until now. I feel more comfortable wearing bright colors because now I know how to pair them without them looking tacky. I have learned that primary colors go incredibly well together. This past weekend there was a huge celebration in my hometown where we celebrate the old Spanish Days and their culture. I was gifted a red flower to wear in my hair but had nothing red to wear. This is where I remembered that wearing yellow and red together looks amazing! It also went on theme with the Spanish flag colors.

White is a perfect color to wear with pretty much anything. I like wearing white in the summer because the contrast on tan skin is just *Cheff's kiss*

I got the white top from Forever 21 about 5 years ago and the yellow skirt from H&M about 2 months ago. The shoes are from Shein and are about $27. I took these shoes all over Europe and I must say that they are one of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. (I have wide feet and they did not feel tight at all)!

this photo was taken in Santa Barbara at "El Canon Perdido" where there was a market with small businesses selling products.

Graduation Season is here!

(You can see all of my graduation photos at the bottom of this blog) :)

It is a time that is full of excitement, joy, relief, and curiosity of the unknown. You are finishing a big chapter of your life and with that you want to finish strong. Let's talk about the fun stuff that comes with graduation; and that is the outfit!

Traditionally girls will wear a white dress for their graduation photos which I have done for both my high school and my university photos. I bought my dress at a small boutique in Santa Barbara where they have handmade pieces imported from Europe. I wanted to wear white because it's a color that goes well with my skin color and it contrasts well with my black robe. The heels I'm wearing are from T.J. Maxx. The anklet I am wearing is from Shein.

I hired a professional photographer (my boyfriend) to take my graduation photos.

These photos were not taken on the same day as my ceremony and I highly suggest you take your photos on a different day as well for several reasons.

  1. Busy Campus:

Lets start with the most obvious. There are going to be so many people on campus that day and having people in the background of your photos is not ideal if you want to get aesthetic pictures. I took my picture sometime in Early May in the evening to avoid having people watch me take pictures but also because the lighting during golden hour is perfect for graduation photos!

2. Patience:

You will be sitting at your graduation ceremony for several hours either in a sweaty gym full of people or you will be roasting like a rotisserie chicken outside in the glazing sun. Take it from me, you do not want to be taking these photos after you are all sweaty and bored out of your mind at the ceremony.

3. Flexibility with Light

If you want to have your photos taken at golden hour, you most likely will not be able to do so if your ceremony is at the same time. You will need to take your photos after or before the ceremony which means you will have harsh lighting which is not what you want for graduation photos.

4. Lack of Time

Before your ceremony you will be busy with showering, doing your hair, and full face of makeup. You also need to keep in mind that you need to arrive extra early so you can find where you are suppose to meet your classmates and have your parents, family, and friends, find the best place to sit. The seating at graduations are usually first come first serve unless you are on the VIP list. So, the earlier your family gets to their seat the better chance they'll have to get a desirable spot. Taking time to take photos before the ceremony may take time away from your family getting the desirable seat.

Your Birthday is the most important day of the year so it only makes sense to dress your best on this special day. I spent my 24th birthday in Las Vegas and did the typical balloon décor in the hotel room.

My red dress is from Amazon which can be found in my amazon storefront for quick access. I got the heels from Target! They came out in their Spring 2023 collection. The heels are so comfortable but what really bothers me are how the straps always fall off unless I tighten them to the point it cuts off my blood circulation. These shoes were not ideal for going out to the clubs because of how they kept slipping off. They were however, perfect for the pictures.

The diamond silver crown is from Amazon. I use it for every birthday and it incredible sturdy.

My gold layered necklace along with my gold rings are from H&M. When buying their jewelry make sure to not shower with it on because they do tarnish. If you tend to sweat a lot this will also cause the jewelry to tarnish. I recommend you put a coat of clear nail polish to protect the paint.

My red nails are actually press ons that I bought on Mercari from a girl that creates nails to your personalized nail length and width. I also really like the press on nails they have at Target. My only issue is that no matter how well I prep my nails they always fall off and they always leave me real nails damaged and brittle after removing them.

The other outfit it much more casual. This is what I wore when we went to Omega Mart. Which if you are planning a trip to Vegas you CAN NOT miss this. It is one of the coolest experiences I have ever had. I don't want to spoil too much but you should definitely check it out. Back to the outfit; The black pants are from H&M; the red tank top is from Urban Outfitters.

Decor: The giant number #24 balloons are also from Amazon. The inflatable "Happy Birthday signs" are from Dollar Tree.
